How NAD+ produces these effects
NAD+ is a substrate for sirtuins (SIRT1–7), PARP enzymes (DNA repair), and CD38 (NAD+ degradation). Cellular NAD+ levels decline with age, and restoration has been associated with improved mitochondrial function, DNA repair, and inflammatory markers.
What NAD+ is not studied for
It is important to distinguish researched effects from extrapolations. Most NAD+ data comes from cell and animal models. Human use is typically observational. NAD+ is not a replacement for medical care or a prescription medication unless specifically indicated.
