GHRH (Growth Hormone Releasing Hormone)

GHRH is an endogenous hypothalamic peptide that stimulates the pituitary gland to release growth hormone. CJC-1295 and Sermorelin are synthetic GHRH analogues used in research.

Overview

GHRH is a 44-amino-acid peptide secreted by the hypothalamus that acts on specific receptors in the anterior pituitary, triggering pulsatile growth hormone (GH) release. Endogenous GHRH has a short half-life of approximately 6–8 minutes due to rapid enzymatic degradation by DPP-IV enzymes. Synthetic GHRH analogues such as Sermorelin (a 29-AA fragment) and CJC-1295 (a modified 30-AA analogue) are engineered to resist this degradation and have extended half-lives ranging from 30 minutes (Sermorelin) to 6–8 days (CJC-1295 with DAC modification). These analogues stimulate GH release through the same physiological pathway as endogenous GHRH, preserving the natural pulsatile pattern of GH secretion.
